This lodge is one of the most unique salmon fisheries on the Kenai Peninsula, because to the best of our knowledge, it is the only fishing lodge with private water. Situated in the wilderness of Port Graham, our Rocky and Windy Rivers are available only to fishermen fishing with this lodge. With the incredible overcrowding the peninsula waters experience throughout the summer, this opportunity is priceless.
From the Gulf of Alaska the annual spawn of Chum (Dog), Humpback (Pink) and Coho (Silver) Salmon and Dolly Varden (Char) into Rocky and Windy Rivers begin in July and continue well into and past September. With the spawns overlapping, you can often enjoy catching two species or more during your trip throughout the season. With every high tide fresh fish will enter the rivers to spawn and the fish already there will continue up river which will provide you countless opportunities and locations to catch fish. Just think, no shoulder to shoulder fishing, no boats, no civilization and no rushing just pure unadulterated wilderness! Equally important, there is never any hustle in your stay. We prefer that the guests set the tempo for the day when it comes to fishing, meals and relaxation. Every Sportsman owes it to him or herself to live the dream of visiting and fishing Alaska. Its mountains, fishing, vast wilderness and wildlife are

fishery offers "private" traditional fishing on Rocky River and its sister Windy River to 12 fishermen. No float planes dropping in! No flotilla of drift boats! Just solitude, the cry of eagles and lots of salmon. If you love fishing, the wilderness and wildlife then this is for you!

The Lodge

Looking out the front window of your two person log cabin across Rocky Lake is enough to make any sportsman want to stay forever. Accommodating only 12 fishermen, each cabin accommodates 2 persons and is comfortable, warm and only a short walk to the Camp Lodge, Additionally, detached private baths are convenient to the cabins and well maintained. Begin each morning with a fresh cup of coffee, followed with a hearty breakfast. That will set the pace for the day. Enjoying a great supper, complete with dessert doesn't get any better as you chat and boast about the day at the stream. To end the day consider taking one of our rowboats onto Rocky Lake and cast to Dolly's or take a walk on our private road picking berries or just relax on your front porch looking at the mountains above.

The Location

To reach our location requires a 20 minute flight south from Homer, AK and depending on the weather conditions we will land in Port Graham or the Windy Bay wilderness strip. The camp is located in the wilderness some 26 driving miles though the mountains from Port Graham. The lodge location is removed from any other civilization and we rarely see anyone providing privacy and ample opportunities to enjoy the wilderness. It's setting is on Rocky Lake and provides for an awesome view as you look across the lake to the mountains above. Guests enjoy viewing wildlife and often see otters, black bears, eagles, lynx, blue jays, squirrels and even ravens on their visits to the lake or through the camp. Rocky River is a short walk from the camp and most fishing locations are less than a 10 minute drive. Windy River is a 35 minute drive and offers incredible ocean views and wildlife sightings.
